Doing many tasks in an "all or nothing" mindset is not called productivity.
Productivity is about doing something or anything in a day for a long-term goal.
So far, I have worked with a lot of productive people, and from what I’ve noticed, they don't do a lot in a day. They are not the people who sit around their laptops all day and night to build their startup within a week.
Yet, they have accomplished so much that you find yourself wanting to be like them.
Feelings that make you stuck
You might have installed the Notion app on your phone, created a new page, added a title, wrote down an intense schedule, and planned to turn the world upside down in an instant with your tasks.
And I can guarantee that you won't stop there. You will keep pushing yourself, believing you can be the next Elon Musk in a week. At the end of the day, the satisfaction of doing something fills you up, and get to bed.
Days later, you slowly become less consistent, and less disciplined, and the result hits you hard. You feel all the hatred towards yourself and burn away your dreams and passion.
The situation you have faced was not because of doing something different or the lack of knowledge you had. It's all because of the mindset of wanting many things in a short period.
This mindset installs all the hard feelings like overwhelming, procrastination, and fear in you.
Your regrets start acting upon you, making you afraid of not being able to accomplish anything, seeing all the plans you had going downhill.
These become the trigger for not being able to do things you have enjoyed. It creates a mindset of not being good enough to do anything at all.
So, you start watching more movies, scrolling on social media a lot, and even start watching anime with large episodes only to avoid all the feelings. This even makes you more disastrous.
Therefore, let me tell you this, which is something you have already heard a ton of times:
“Take one step at a time, not a million.”
Seriously, walk before you run. Merely creating a landing page or even just waking up early is considered productive.
I'll say it again - doing something or anything for the long term is enough.
Imagine planting a tree. You need to plant the seed first and water it daily.
When you keep the consistency in making sure it grows well, it will become a tree(in the future). It's a long process, but A seed is the first step in a tree's life cycle.
You don't have to plan all your hours and days to get more stress, which can lead to heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, and lots of other problems.
So, you don't want to welcome that guy to your life party, right? Therefore, remember to take your time, and remember there is no need to rush everything.
Take things one step at a time and focus on a single, easy task with each step. Allow these small achievements to accumulate and eventually lead to something that brings you joy.
It's necessary to keep in mind that you are responsible for your life, not your pet, not the president, but you. You must be willing to accept the consequences of your actions, not society.
While your decisions may impact others, ultimately, the choice is yours. Therefore, listen to your heart and make the choices that are right for you.
